U.S. stock index futures were pointing higher Tuesday signaling the S&P 500 would extend a record as investors prepared to resume trading after the long Memorial Day weekend.
The S&P 500 Futures were up 8.25 points to 1905.25 points while the Nasdaq Futures gained 18.00 points to 3693.00 points.
The data diary features durable goods orders at 8.30 a.m. Eastern Time, followed by the S&P/Case-Shiller House Price Index which measures the change in price of single-family homes, at 9.00 a.m.
The Conference Board's consumer confidence data is to be released at 10.00 a.m.
Pfizer was up 0.7% in pre-market trading after the company abandoned its efforts to buy British rival AstraZeneca.
Staples shares were down 3% after a broker downgrade.
AutoZone, Workday, and JinkoSolar are all due to report results.
Earlier Tuesday, Asian markets ended mixed while European markets were mostly higher in midday trade.
