Jul. 18—"I feel like in life, there's always going to be a goal. But it's about staying on the ride to get to that goal."
Those are the words of Mariah Duran, the professional skateboarder from Albuquerque, in a new promotional video from local credit union U.S. Eagle. The two sides are partnering in a statewide financial well-being campaign "to help New Mexicans find their financial balance" and help residents learn about the tools U.S. Eagle has to offer, the credit union said in a news release Wednesday.
The campaign puts a focus on U.S. Eagle's useagle.org/findyourbalance website, which includes "bite-sized" online courses for members and non-members, as well as free digital tools that can help New Mexicans "take control of their financial goals," the credit union said in the release. The website also includes a link to free financial wellness coaching services.
In a statement, Duran — a three-time X Games gold medalist and current two-time USA Olympic team member — said she's honored to partner with the credit union to help residents with "setting their goals for financial well-being."
"The 'Find Your Balance' campaign is another way for me to give back to the community where I was raised and to those who have supported me in reaching my goals," she said.
Added Marsha Majors, president and CEO of U.S. Eagle: "We are thrilled to work with Mariah to help share the importance of financial well-being to youth and young adults in New Mexico. We are dedicated to providing them with financial education and free tools to reach their goals. It's not just about having more money, but rather about making most of the money they do have by finding balance and feeling confident in their financial decisions."
