WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - July 14, 2016) - The President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and USCM CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran will attend the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland from Monday, July 18 through Thursday, July 21, 2016. Throughout the week, Mayor Cornett will be attending a variety of events to discuss USCM's Compact for a Better America: A Call to Action, which calls on the Presidential candidates to recognize the critical role cities play in shaping America's future and to focus on policy issues that are important to people living in cities and their metropolitan areas.
While at the Convention, Mayor Cornett will join prominent artists and top elected officials for the national non-partisan policy forum ARTS SPEAK on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 4 pm at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The forum will focus on the transformative power of the arts to impact 21st century learning and the economy, as well as healing and wellness, especially for wounded military veterans and their families. ARTS SPEAK is presented in partnership by Americans for the Arts, the Arts Action Fund, The United States Conference of Mayors, and The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM).
