Donald Trump 's former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, booted from his job earlier this month amid reported in-fighting, has lost a $1.2 million book deal, Politico reported, citing sources.
HarperCollins pulled its offer, tendered sometime before mid-May, amid concerns over a nondisclosure agreement, the report said, citing sources. Politico reported that Lewandowski declined to allow the publisher to review a copy of the nondisclosure agreement.
Lewandowski, who was accused of allegedly assaulting a journalist and denied the allegations until a video of the incident emerged, had been soliciting offers for a book tentatively titled "Let Trump be Trump" while still working on the campaign, the report said.
After the video's release, Lewandowski said he had been trying to protect Trump from a potential assault. Lewandowski was later arrested in Florida, but charges were later dropped.
But Lewandowski told Politico on Tuesday that he was "not shopping a book deal," the report said. The Trump campaign declined to comment and HarperCollins didn't respond to requests for comment, the report said.
Earlier this month, CNN hired Lewandowski as a political consultant. In addition to spurring outrage in some camps over rewarding allegedly abusive behavior, the move also led to concerns that due to the nondisclosure agreement, Lewandowski would be unable to provide any substantive analysis.
