US-based technology company Trimble has introduced a suite of new application programming interfaces (APIs) for its cloud-hosted estimating software, Accubid Anywhere.
These APIs are designed to streamline the collection, analysis, and sharing of data for electrical contractors, thereby improving estimating processes and collaboration throughout the construction life cycle.
A suite of five Accubid Anywhere APIs offers a toolkit for estimators to integrate bid data into dashboards for enhanced analysis and reporting.
The Project API provides detailed project lists while the Estimate API captures all estimate information for extraction into the users’ enterprise resource platforms (ERPs).
The Final Price API compares initial estimates with final project costs, the Extension API sends a bill of materials to other software, and the Bid Breakdown API facilitates detailed data retrieval and analysis.
This automated API connectivity extends from estimating to other related systems such as ERPs, project management, and construction resource management, eliminating the need for manual data transfer. This integration allows for more collaboration and workflow management across various construction processes.
Accubid Anywhere is claimed to offer robust estimating features, including integrated graphical takeoff, change order management, pricing, submittal management, and more.
The APIs are currently available to North American customers who have an active Accubid Anywhere subscription.
Trimble construction management systems vice-president Lawrence Smith said: "Estimates generate a high volume of valuable data that should be analysed and used in other workflows, but this data often gets trapped in the estimating system.
"Using APIs to extract and connect data automatically to other systems means contractors don't have to import, export or manually retype the information. This improves efficiency and decision-making on both the project and operational level."
In October 2024, Caterpillar and Trimble announced the continuation of their joint venture, which focuses on improving grade control technologies within the construction industry.
"Trimble unveils new APIs for cloud-hosted estimating software" was originally created and published by World Construction Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
