New Versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds Enable Comprehensive Design-to-detail Workflow

WESTMINSTER, Colo., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble® (Nasdaq: TRMB) announced today the 2025 versions of Tekla® Structural Designer, its structural analysis and 3D design software for multimaterial buildings, and Tekla Tedds, its automated civil and structural analysis calculation software. With several significant updates, both products offer an enhanced user experience and expanded design capabilities for an optimized design collaboration experience.

Tekla Structural Designer 2025: An improved workflow for the design of podium structures with masonry now include improvements for the design of reinforcement and the ability to model wall edge releases.
Tekla Structural Designer 2025: An improved workflow for the design of podium structures with masonry now include improvements for the design of reinforcement and the ability to model wall edge releases.

Tekla Structural Designer 2025 and Tekla Tedds 2025 help create connected workflows to facilitate seamless design collaboration between various software solutions like Trimble SketchUp®, Autodesk® Revit® and Tekla Structures. These integrations allow structural engineers to reuse information and share and analyze models more efficiently to enhance the engineer's productivity and accuracy.

Connected Ecosystems for Confidence in Workflows
Models created in Trimble SketchUp can now serve as reference models within Tekla Structural Designer, further strengthening the architect-to-structural engineer collaborative workflow. In addition, Trimble enhanced the integration of Tekla Structural Designer with Autodesk Revit, allowing for a smooth bidirectional transition of models between Revit and Tekla Structural Designer. The Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Revit 2025 includes improved connectivity rules, additional profile families for the UK and USA markets, and enhanced analytical model creation for more accurate and connected models.

Comprehensive Design-to-Detail Workflow
Through an enhanced connected workflow between Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer, BIM modelers and structural engineers can efficiently share model information for the analysis of steel structures. This seamless data transfer reduces errors in the design process and facilitates a comprehensive design-to-detail workflow to improve collaboration between architects and engineers.

Tekla Structural Designer 2025 also features an easier way for mapping user-defined attributes (UDA) between Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Structures, which includes data on critical design values under fire conditions, to address the growing importance of fire safety in structural design. An improved integration with IDEA StatiCa® structural analysis software further streamlines the connection design process, facilitating detailed connection design within the Tekla environment.

"Trimble supports its customers in their quest to collaborate, construct and deliver with confidence," said David Sanderson, product manager, Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds at Trimble. "The enhancements in the 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds streamline the design process by bridging the worlds of architecture and engineering, supporting teamwork around shared design data while ensuring maximum productivity."
