Trainer Communications to Host Second Annual Media SharkTank Event, Challenging CEOs to Present Their Best Pitch to Top Press

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 16, 2012) - Trainer Communications, a full-service public relations, integrated marketing and social media agency servicing the enterprise and consumer technology sectors, returns this fall with its highly anticipated, second annual Media SharkTank event on Nov. 29, 2012. Continuing the tradition of last year, this event will give Silicon Valley CEOs the opportunity to pitch their company story to a panel of top-tier broadcast and business media and position themselves for future coverage. Proceeds from the event will again benefit the San Francisco Baykeeper. Last year's event raised $10,000.

"Participating in Trainer Communications' SharkTank provided a unique opportunity to receive candid, real time advice from a very elite group of media representatives," said Kevin Brown, CEO of Coraid, Inc. "The constructive feedback I received really helped me learn how to take our technology story to the business level and apply it to multiple audiences."

The format for this year's event will be similar to last year's. Inspired by ABC's "Shark Tank," a show where inventors present ideas or products to a panel of wealthy entrepreneurs in hopes of receiving an investment, Trainer Communications created a similar event in the spirit of Silicon Valley entrepreneurism. Participating CEOs will deliver a private, three-minute pitch to this year's panel of Bay Area broadcast and business press journalists, who will provide immediate feedback and rate each pitch based on the company's position in the market. This "friendly fire" experience will help CEOs hone their presentation skills and refresh their stories to be more successful when interviewed in the future.

The prestigious panel includes:

Immediately after the rounds of pitching, Media SharkTank participants will be treated to a cocktail reception hosted by Trainer Communications, allowing further conversation and networking among the attending technology leaders and the panel of journalists. The Media SharkTank event will take place at 5:30 p.m. PT at Hotel Vitale, an elegant venue in San Francisco situated on a beautiful stretch of The Embarcadero overlooking the Bay Bridge.

"We received enthusiastic feedback from both the media and participating CEOs last year, and we expect this year to be even better," said Susan Thomas, CEO, Trainer Communications. "Media SharkTank is another way for us to share our resources with upcoming and established Silicon Valley companies wanting to further their success. It's exciting to watch CEOs learn firsthand from our esteemed panel of journalists. Working with Baykeeper as our charitable partner is just icing on the cake!"
