TikTok has announced that it’s once again partnering with the Cannes Film Festival in 2025, this time as an official sponsor, which will grant TikTok exclusive access to a range of Cannes events and content.
And TikTok will be sharing that content with its users, via an in-app Cannes Film Festival hub, where it will highlight all the latest news and clips from the event.
As explained by TikTok:
“As an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, TikTok returns to the Croisette and unveils its special programming for #Cannes2025. We are thrilled to continue to offer our global community of over 1 billion users behind-the-scenes access to one of the world's most prestigious cultural events.”
TikTok’s also partnering with a range of creators who will be in attendance at Cannes, and will share their insights from the event.
“Search #Cannes2025 on the platform to see exclusive footage, interviews with competition talent, and Festival highlights captured through the eyes of passionate creators who are front row to the action — bringing the magic of the Cannes Film Festival to life like never before.”
TikTok will also be hosting various IRL events, both at Copal Beach on the Croissete, and a dedicated TikTok space in the JW Marriott, where it will facilitate creative events and meet-ups to help TikTok creators make industry connections.
Movie discussion is hugely popular on TikTok, which makes this a logical and beneficial partnership.
Indeed, TikTok says that the hashtag #FilmTok grew 94.7% from April 2024 to April 2025 and now has more than 1.8M posts.
And Cannes specifically has been a big topic of discussion, with more than 22,000 videos posted last year using the hashtag #Cannes2024.
In the past, TikTok has hosted its own short-film festival as part of its Cannes activations, which it’s not doing this time around, as it takes on a more official role with the event itself.
Which could help to further solidify TikTok as a key Cannes partner, strengthening its broader linkage with the film industry.
Either way, the partnership will provide more Cannes access via the app, which will help to spark more interest and engagement.
