BANGKOK, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Thailand confirmed 216 new coronavirus cases and one new death on Saturday, taking the total number of infections to 7,379 cases and the number of deaths to 64 since the outbreak started last January.

The majority of the new cases were locally transmitted while two were imported from abroad, the government COVID-19 task force said. (Reporting by Panu Wongcha-um)
