Tesla's (TSLA) shares were the S&P 500's top gainers Tuesday as the Magnificent Seven big tech stocks rose on Christmas Eve.

Shares of the EV maker finished the day up more than 7%, making them the best performer sin the benchmark index—ahead of Super Micro Computer (SMCI), which rose about 6%.

Other "Mag 7" stocks also rose today, a holiday-shortened session that came ahead of a day off tomorrow and kicked off the Santa Claus Rally period. The major indexes all rose today, led by the Nasdaq Composite.

Amazon.com (AMZN) added 1.8%, the largest gain of the rest of the Magnificent Seven. Meta Platforms (META) added 1.3%. Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT) and Alphabet (GOOGL) were also in the green.

All of the S&P 500's 11 sectors were in the green today.
