A Taco Bell Manager Refused To Accept a Customer's $2 Bill?
A story of a Taco Bell manager and a $2 dollar bill has been making the rounds online for decades.

In December 1993, a story began to circulate online in several Usenet newsgroups about a Taco Bell restaurant located in a shopping mall whose manager refused a customer's $2 bill, even though such bills are legal tender in the U.S. It was originally posted by a user named Captain Sarcastic.

With articles about the purported value of $2 bills circulating in the news in November 2023 – along with the fact that the 30-year anniversary of the Taco Bell story takes place in December – here, once again, is the rumor that we first looked at so many years ago:

The following is a true story. It amused the hell out of me while it was happening. I hope it isn't one of those "had to be there" things.
