Taco Bell expands its 'Cravings Box' value meals: When and how to get one

Taco Bell is re-upping – and upping its value meal game.

Available starting on Jan. 16, Taco Bell will offer the choice of $5, $7 and $9 Luxe Cravings Boxes; the meals will remain on the menu through early June.

Taco Bell's move is a continuation of a trend in value-oriented meals by major fast food restaurants – a response to consumers' concerns about inflation and rising food prices. Last year, Taco Bell joined competitors such as McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King in launching value meals with its Luxe Cravings boxes, debuting in June.

Value meals ramping up in 2025

Inflation remains an issue for shoppers and customers of fast-food restaurants. McDonald's earlier this week extended its $5 Meal Deal until the summer and debuted, with the help of actor and retired WWE legend John Cena, a new McValue menu.

Also, Wendy's announced a new 2 for $7 meal deal on Wednesday, while Subway last week revealed a new Meal of the Day special, priced $6.99 with a 6-inch sub or $9.99 (foot-long sub).

“Now more than ever, consumers are looking for ways to get more value without compromising quality and choice – and that’s exactly where the Luxe Cravings Boxes shine,” said Taylor Montgomery, the chief marketing officer for Taco Bell North America, in a press release. “Value means something different to everyone, and we think it should feel like a luxury everyone can afford.”
