West Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - December 20, 2024) - Surge Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: NILI) (OTCQX: NILIF) (FSE: DJ5) (the "Company" or "Surge") is pleased to announce that its Exploration Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan Permit Application (EPO) has entered the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 30-day Environmental Assessment public comment period.

On November 21, 2023, the Company submitted its EPO to the Bureau of Land Management, Wells Field Office (BLM) for the Nevada North Lithium Project (NNLP). The permit application included all required biological studies, a Class III cultural inventory and hydrologic baseline evaluations to support the NEPA analysis.

The BLM has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the environmental impacts of the NNLP. The exploration project would allow Surge to disturb up to 250 acres compared to the current 5 acres and allow for expanded drilling in 2025 and beyond on the 7,819-acre Project Area. This expanded drilling will provide additional information on lithium mineral availability, mineral extraction and processing options, metallurgical attributes, strength characteristics of existing bedrock and overburden materials, and hydrogeologic characteristics of local groundwater systems.

The BLM is seeking input on the EA during a 30-day public comment period. The NNLP EA and the unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) can be found at BLM Announcements. The public comment period will close January 19, 2025.

Mr. Greg Reimer, Chief Executive Officer and Director, commented, "Since submitting our application we have been working hard to provide the BLM with necessary information as they developed their EA. We are very pleased to achieve this important step in the permitting process and look forward to comments from the public."
