If you're planning to shop end-of-the-year, semi-annual sales or use a gift card you got for Christmas on New Year's Eve, check store hours first.

Semi-annual sales, many which kicked off after Christmas are underway at Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Tory Burch and several other stores, including luxury brands. There also Christmas clearance sales.

But many stores will close early Thursday, several hours before the ball drops.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, expect stores to limit the number of shoppers allowed inside and require masks.

According to a national study commissioned by Planet Fitness, a sponsor of Times Square New Year’s Eve, 62% of people are eager to forget about the toilet paper crisis of 2020 and 41% of parents want to say “good riddance” to remote schooling in the New Year.
