Samsara, a connected operations cloud company, has integrated with Mobilisights, the data as a service arm of automotive manufacturer, Stellantis.
The collaboration will facilitate hardware-free connectivity to telematics information, streamlining fleet management processes and bolstering operational efficiencies.
Samsara's platform will tap into the built-in telematics hardware of Stellantis' brand portfolio, which includes Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, FIAT, Jeep, Opel, Peugeot and Vauxhall.
Applicable to most post-2024 manufactured vehicles and select models from the 2018–2024 period, this integration encompasses electric vehicles and commercial fleets alike.
Fleet operators stand to benefit from the ability to link Stellantis vehicles with Samsara’s platform directly.
The process bypasses the need for additional hardware installations and provides immediate access to essential data such as GPS location, mileage, and fuel levels through a simple vehicle identification number entry.
Samsara OEM director Paul George said: “By eliminating the need for aftermarket hardware, this integration simplifies vehicle onboarding and ensures tamper-proof telematics access.
“We are excited to work with Mobilisights to deliver real-time data insights that empower European businesses to operate more efficiently, safely, and sustainably.”
Stellantis, headquartered in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, claims to hold a key position in the European market, representing approximately 17% of vehicle sales across the region.
Mobilisights EMEA sales VP Sebastien Fraysse said: “By combining Samsara’s expertise in connected operations with data harmonisation powered by Mobilisights’ platform, we are enabling fleet-based businesses across Europe to seamlessly access critical and actionable vehicle data. This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that drive better outcomes for our customers.”
Recently, Stellantis announced its compliance with the UK’s Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate for both cars and vans in 2024.
