Rapid Implementation Achieved in First 18 Months

ATLANTA, May 07, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manhattan Associates Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) today announced that leading workplace solutions provider, Staples, has implemented Manhattan Active® Warehouse Management (WM) at nine of its U.S.-based B2B fulfillment locations in just 18 months. The company’s remaining fulfillment centers will be up and running on Manhattan Active WM by the end of 2026.

Staples chose Manhattan Active WM to streamline warehouse processes, reduce picking and order errors and improve overall order and inventory management processes. Manhattan’s industry-leading warehouse management solution is perfectly suited for Staples’ advanced fulfillment environment and demanding performance standards. Another advantage for Staples was the ease of integration with other modern supply chain applications and capabilities, unlike legacy platforms which were increasingly complicated to design, staff and complete in reasonable timeframes.

Staples’ U.S. fulfillment network comprises 6,000 associates who pick, pack and ship 2.5 million units per day from 36 fulfillment centers and 220 delivery locations, utilizing 12 million square feet of warehouse, storage, sorting and delivery space. The company also processes orders for several marketplaces and wholesale customers, having integrated cross-dock capabilities with several well-known brands. Staples’ new warehouse management system helps them seamlessly receive B2C and B2B orders from numerous order management systems, across several divisions and brands.

"With our broad and deep supply chain network, capabilities and expertise, Staples today services over 98% of the U.S. with next-day delivery, and we are investing in the right solutions to serve our customers," said Ryan Hanson, chief supply chain officer at Staples. "As we are currently shipping a significant portion of our network volume on Manhattan Active WM and have customers in mission-critical medical, government and private industry verticals, we place a high premium on system performance and uptime reliability to exceed customer expectations. With a robust, cloud solution that addresses not only the present but future operational and integration needs, we’ve only begun to tap into opportunities to drive efficiency and maximize the operator experience."

"We are delighted to partner with Staples to modernize their distribution technology and create a more intuitive user experience," said Stewart Gantt, executive vice president, Professional Services at Manhattan. "Their innovative use of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) fully leverages Manhattan’s embedded Warehouse Execution System (WES) to quickly connect to a wide range of Material handling equipment (MHE)."
