According to a Kohl’s news release, 27 Kohl’s stores are closing by April 2025. The Spanish Fort location at 21000 Town Center Ave. is one of the stores set to close.

LOCATION:

Officials said the closures are due to underperformance and that the company is working with associates at closing stores to offer severance packages or find other openings in the company.

“While Kohl’s continues to believe in the health and strength of its profitable store base, these specific locations were underperforming stores,” the release said. “All associates have been informed and offered a competitive severance package or the ability to apply to other open roles at Kohl’s.”

The Spanish Fort location was the only closure listed in Alabama. There will be 13 Alabama locations left following the closure.
