Solar3D's SUNworks Commercial Division and Recycling Industries to Hold Solar Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

ROSEVILLE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 18, 2014) - Solar3D, Inc. (OTCQB: SLTD), a leading solar power company and the developer of a proprietary high efficiency solar cell, announced today that its SUNworks Commercial Division, along with Recycling Industries, Inc. (RI), are hosting a solar ribbon cutting ceremony September 30th at 11:00am to showcase the newly implemented 400kW solar system atop its Sacramento facility.

Recycling Industries has been a fixture within the Sacramento region since 1981, providing products and services to homeowners and businesses including comprehensive recycling programs, school and church fundraisers, recycling centers, and air collection systems. Rallying behind their motto of "Green I$ Good", RI enlisted the help of SUNworks to install the largest solar project for a recycling company in the Sacramento region. RI expects the new SUNworks installed solar array to offset 80% of the power at its 155,000 square foot Watt Avenue recycling facility, increasing electrical efficiency and greatly reducing costs.

"Each day we help thousands of homeowners and businesses reduce their waste, creating a greener community for residents and entrepreneurs. When SUNworks presented us with solar for our plant, we immediately knew it was the right decision for us to pursue," said David Kuhnen, General Manager of Recycling Industries.

As Recycling Industries is among the largest recycling centers in the Sacramento region, the solar installation has generated significant attention from local, state and federal officials, along with multiple national and regional media outlets. It is expected that several local news stations will be airing the solar ribbon cutting ceremony, with local politicians on-hand including Sacramento County Supervisors Susan Peters and Phil Serna, Assembly Member Roger Dickenson, Senator Jim Nielsen, SMUD Board President Bill Slaton, and a representative from Darrel Steinberg's office in attendance.

"It's rewarding to see a large enterprise such as Recycling Industries implement a positive program to improve the overall health of a community," said Abe Emard, CEO of SUNworks. "It's even more rewarding to see the community reciprocate in a positive manner, as the Sacramento region has done by embracing the need for clean technology."

"We are thrilled to lead the implementation of such a large solar project to a company that truly leads by example, making the region 'greener'," said Jim Nelson, CEO of Solar3D. "The SUNworks team continues to expand its technology and capabilities, providing companies like Recycling Industries with significant cost savings and increased energy efficiencies."
