Aurory, one of the major NFT and gaming projects on Solana, announced its expansion to Ethereum's Layer-2 network, Arbitrum.
This move will allow the game to tap into other crypto communities and liquidity, bringing Aurory NFTs and the AURY token into the game from either chains using Aurory’s SyncSpace technology. The expansion of Aurory to Ethereum is a significant first step out of the Solana ecosystem, and it may expand to other chains like Polygon, Avalanche and BNB.
On the other hand, Automata, the developer behind the metaverse game Star Atlas, has announced layoffs on Discord. The reasons for the layoffs were largely financial, due to loss of funds from the FTX collapse, fall in value of the ATLAS token and tax liabilities.
Moving forward, Automata will focus on delivering SAGE and mobile app Crew. The team is also developing a software development kit (SDK) combining Unreal Engine 5 and Solana, but it will continue at a slower pace.
Solana's gaming ecosystem has been gaining attention in the crypto world due to its low transaction costs and high speed. However, it has also faced criticisms, including network outages and significant exposure to Sam Bankman-Fried's now-defunct FTX.
