Skyya Communications Wins PRSA-New York 2014 Big Apple Award in Marketing Consumer Products for Historic Re-Launch of Iconic Indian Motorcycle Brand

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 27, 2014) - Skyya Communications, a high-touch boutique strategic communications agency with a fresh and innovative approach to serving the PR and marketing needs of clients across the technology and consumer products landscape, today announced it has been awarded a prestigious 2014 Big Apple Award by the New York Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in the category "Marketing Consumer Products - Non-Packaged Goods." This award recognizes Skyya for its campaign to re-launch the Indian Motorcycle brand in 2013 on behalf of Polaris Industries, Inc. Skyya, a Minneapolis-based, award-winning agency with offices in New York City and Los Angeles, received top honors over finalists that included several of New York's largest global agencies during the PRSA's 27th Annual Big Apple Awards Gala held May 22 at the Mandarin Oriental New York. Today's announcement follows on the heels of recent Skyya PR industry award wins from the Minnesota chapter of the PRSA, including "Best Industry Campaign of the Year for Consumer Products" and "Best New Product Campaign."

Skyya re-launched Indian Motorcycle, America's first motorcycle company, under the new stewardship of Polaris Industries after 53 years of being dormant. The initial campaign culminated in August 2013 with the highly anticipated unveiling of three all-new Indian Motorcycle models, bringing choice back to the American motorcycling scene. The Indian Motorcycle campaign was a fusion of heritage and modern elements. Preceding the launch, Skyya worked with the Indian Motorcycle team to craft a nine-month "tease" campaign based on evolving engineering and marketing milestones. Significant results achieved included more than two billion unpaid media impressions in top-tier national business publications, consumer press, men's outlets, automotive press, and local and lifestyle publications; TV appearances, a steady drumbeat of special events and press releases, and a highly favorable product reviews campaign.

"It is truly an honor to be recognized for our work by the PRSA chapter in the media capital of the world, and to do so in competition with some of the largest PR agencies in the country," said Susan Donahue, Managing Partner, Skyya Communications-NYC. "All of us at Skyya are proud to have played such an instrumental role in the rebirth and resurgence of one of America's most storied and legendary automotive brands, and I would like to personally extend my appreciation to the Indian Motorcycle account team at Skyya for their inspired, award-winning work."
