Omnichannel retailer J.Jill announced that Claire Spofford, J.Jill’s president and chief executive officer, will retire. J.Jill has retained an executive search firm to assist in identifying her successor. Spofford is expected to remain in her current role until April 2025 and will work closely with the executive team and the board of directors to ensure a smooth transition. Spofford became CEO in February 2021 and previously held leadership positions at Cornerstone Brands and Timberland.

Luxury conglomerate Kering and its subsidiary Bottega Veneta announced Louise Trotter as Bottega’s new creative director. Trotter, creative director of Carven, will join the house at the end of next month.

Chanel
Matthieu Blazy is the new artistic director of Chanel. In this role, he will be responsible for the house’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories collections. Blazy will join Chanel in 2025, succeeding Virginie Viard, who left in June. Blazy joins from Kering, where he spent three years as creative director of Bottega Veneta.

Boohoo-owned brand PrettyLittleThing announced its chief marketing officer, Nicki Capstick, has exited the womenswear e-tailer, Drapers reported. Capstick first took on the CMO role in July 2023 amid several leadership shifts carried out upon the exit of PrettyLittleThing founder, Umar Kamani. However, she has been with the company since 2011. The reason for her exit is unclear.

Belgian brand Dries Van Noten announces the appointment of Julian Klausner as creative director. In this role, he will advance both menswear and womenswear, ensuring the brand’s identity remains at the forefront of his vision.
Ashworth Golf Company
Golf apparel brand Ashworth Golf Company announced the return of its founder, John Ashworth, as creative director. The third-generation golfer founded his eponymous brand in 1987 and stepped away a decade later to pursue other golf-centric ventures. Now, he returns with a “renewed commitment to authenticity.”

Circulose
Circulose, the Swedish textile recycler previously known as Renewcell, announced the appointment of Sara Diez Jauregui and Kalyan Madabhushi to its board of directors. Diez Jauregui is the CEO of the Post Fiber and serves on the board of directors of Revolution Race. Madabhushi is an experienced CEO with over 34 years of leadership in global businesses. Having held senior roles at Royal Dutch Shell and Aditya Birla Group (ABG), he has led initiatives in the chemicals, fertilizers and sustainable textile fibers sectors.
