Shreveport Conn's Home Plus closing as national furniture retailer faces bankruptcy
As you drive down Youree Drive in Shreveport you can see large posters plastered to the windows of Conn's Home Plus-- the signs read "Store Closing and Entire Store 30% to 50%."
Conn's is a furniture, mattress, electronics and appliance store-- headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas. It was founded in 1890 as Eastham Plumbing and Heat Company.
The closure is part of a liquidation of about 100 locations across the nation and comes after bankruptcy filings.
According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, the chain has been in operation for about 100 years but has suffered financial losses in the past few years.
