SHEBOYGAN — A Michaels craft store will replace OfficeMax in Sheboygan after it closes this year.
The office supplies store, 3424 Kohler Memorial Drive, will close Dec. 16 after being open for about 25 years.
OfficeMax is hosting a closing sale with the majority of items being up to 30% off. The sales will increase over the weeks leading up to the store's closure, the Sheboygan Press confirmed.

Michaels could open in July or August of 2024, according to a company spokesperson.
The building has housed several businesses over the years, including Arlan's Department Store and Prange Way. Big Lots, 3426 Kohler Memorial Drive, opened in the other section of the building in 2002.
Office Depot, which merged with OfficeMax, said it planned to close or consolidate an unidentified number of stores and eliminate about 13,100 employees by the end of 2023, according to its 2020 Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The company reported the closure of 237 stores as a result of a restructuring plan, as of 2022.
Michaels has 18 locations in Wisconsin, according to its website, including Wausau, Green Bay and Milwaukee.

OfficeMax in Sheboygan is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
