SemGroup Hires Energy Vet as General Counsel

Energy industry veteran Susan Lindberg has been named top lawyerat SemGroup Corp.

Tulsa, Oklahoma-based SemGroup announced last week theappointment of Lindberg as vice president and general counsel.Lindberg has extensive experience leading transactional, governanceand energy regulatory matters for global energy companies. She wasmost recently the GC at Eni US Operating Co. Inc., an integratedenergy company based in Italy. Before joining Eni in 2006, Lindbergheld in-house positions at Duke Energy Corp. and Enron Corp.

She began her legal career as an associate in the energy sectionof Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

With her experience shaping company strategy, Lindberg also willserve on SemGroup's executive management team.

"I look forward to engaging with employees and leadership acrossthe organization as well as our external stakeholders," she said ina statement. "SemGroup is wisely positioning itself for long-termgrowth and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help drive thecompany's success."

SemGroup transports power sources such as crude oil and naturalgas to the wholesale marketplace. In late 2009, the company emergedfrom Chapter 11 bankruptcy as a publicly traded company.

Lindberg succeeds Candice Cheeseman, who is retiring fromSemGroup, according to the company. A spokesman said the companyhas no additional information or comments about the hiring.
