Soorty Enterprises is on a path to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
The vertically integrated denim manufacturer announced the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated its near-term and net-zero GHG emission reduction targets. The validation confirms that Soorty’s targets aligns with global efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

The Pakistani company is committed to reaching net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2050.
Soorty’s comprehensive approach spans the entire supply chain, from responsible material sourcing to energy-efficient manufacturing. The company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 54.6 percent by 2033 from a 2021 base year. It is also committed to reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel, and employee commuting by 54.6 percent within the same timeframe.
“These commitments reflect our unwavering dedication to a sustainable future,” said Asad Soorty, director of Soorty Enterprises. “We believe that by setting these ambitious targets, we are not only contributing to global climate goals but also driving innovation and efficiency within our operations and supply chain. Our journey towards net zero is a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and economic growth.”
From solar energy to sustainable finishing solutions, Soorty uses technologies and practices to minimize waste, reduce water usage, and enhance energy efficiency. The company engages with its supply chain partners and stakeholders, working toward shared goals to promote sustainable production. Earlier this month, Soorty hosted an event in New York City that highlighted several of these collaborations, including fabric collections that utilize Officina+39’s circular dyes and Tonello’s smart machinery.
“Achieving these targets is not something a business can do in isolation. We must collaborate with government bodies, the international community, NGOs, universities, scientists, and the entire supply chain. We are setting these ambitious targets for ourselves and are eager to partner with all stakeholders to make them a reality,” said Mobeen Chughtai, Soorty’s group head of corporate communications and CSR. “It is only together that we can drive meaningful change and create a sustainable future for all.”
