SBDC webinar will go over Fed's annual business survey

Sep. 12—A business questionnaire with the potential to influence federal policy will come up for discussion Wednesday at a webinar being hosted by Cal State Bakersfield's Small Business Development Center.

SBDC Director Kelly Bearden will host Sarah Simms, senior community development finance manager with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, who will go over the Fed's annual Small Business Credit Survey. The confidential questionnaire is geared toward existing businesses, those that have recently closed or enterprises that are about to launch.

Separately, economist Mark Evans will provide a look at how the planned phaseout of pandemic-era federal financial support for child care is expected to impact California. He also expects to discuss prospects for interest rate changes at next week's meeting of the Fed.

Bearden will open the webinar with updates on capital resource programs, weather-related disaster assistance for businesses and the Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Grant Program.

Questions will be taken from online participants. Sign up online at www.tinyurl.com/BusinessRelief290.
