“It’s extremely important that we do have fair and balanced journalism, and that’s why I’m very proud to be an owner of Time,” Benioff said in an interview with Bloomberg Television.
CNBC reported in November that Benioff was in early talks with Antenna Group to sell the publication. Benioff and his wife, Lynne, bought Time from Meredith Corp. six years ago for $190 million.
Earlier this month, Time named President-elect Donald Trump as its person of the year. Benioff said the story “speaks to a moment in the political landscape, where we really have to have a beginner’s mind that every possibility is ahead of us.”
Technology CEOs including Meta Platforms Inc.’s Mark Zuckerberg and TikTok’s Shou Chew have met with Trump in recent weeks. Benioff declined to say whether he had met with the president-elect or plans to do so.
