Aggression, tough talk and secrets are on tap as Mars moves into Aries and Mercury/Pluto are aligned in Capricorn.

Tough talk abounds on Monday, January 30. Mars moved into its ruling sign of Aries on Saturday morning, which is the planet of war moving into the sign of war and aggression. True to character, Saturday featured protests at international airports and a judicial ruling that were on the opposite side of the administration’s executive order to limit Muslim entry into the country. Mars remains in Aires through March 9.

On Sunday, at 3:21 pm, Mercury conjoined Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury is the planet of communication; Pluto the planet of power and transformation. In Capricorn, they both are focused on business, government and other structured organizations. This alignment signifies at the least some tough talk, and perhaps secrets that are being revealed. Be prepared for news beginning in the overnight session that could precipitate volatile trading activity.

This week, the Fed meeting begins on Tuesday. In China, it is a week of celebrating the New Year of the Rooster.
