CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwired - July 14, 2016) - Cincinnati-based RTM Consulting, the leading provider of Resource Management solutions for human capital intensive IT services operations, today announced the launch of the Resource Management Institute (RMI). The RMI is dedicated to the advancement of resource and workforce management thought leadership, best practices and standards, globally recognized credentials that certify resource management expertise, and tools and resources necessary for effective and efficient management of human capital intensive businesses in the IT sector.
Research of technology solution providers, internal IT departments, and other project-based teams reveals 35-40% of projects fail costing these industries billions in rework, underutilized labor, and dissatisfied customers with poor resource management being a leading cause. With nearly a decade of Resource Management experience, RTM Consulting observed an industry need for the standardization and education of resource management strategies, practices and processes. The RMI will provide a community for advancing thought leadership and industry collaboration focused on solving this important industry problem.
"Experience with our Just-in-Time Resourcing® solutions and the Resource Management Certified Professional (RMCP)® program have led us to the need for more industry collaboration on addressing this important problem," said Randy Mysliviec, President and CEO, RTM Consulting. "The RMI will provide the vehicle for focusing thought leadership on improving resource management processes, standards, and solutions targeted at improving project-based delivery performance and utilization of human capital."
"TSIA research clearly indicates Resource Management is a vital element of delivering effective technology solutions, but also an ongoing challenge for tech companies with project-based solutions delivery," said Thomas Lah, Executive Director of TSIA. "RTM Consulting has been a trusted partner of TSIA and its' members since their inception in 2007. With demonstrated deep expertise in Resource Management, RTM Consulting is well positioned to fill an industry void with the creation of the RMI."
With the announcement of the RMI, an advisory board comprised of industry leaders was formed to provide input to ongoing RMI development of industry standards and activities. Some advisory board members commented:
"Infor is very focused on resource management to improve our ability to serve our clients around the globe," said Alice Shoemaker, Director of Global Resource Management, Infor. "With thousands of consultants, effective supply and demand processes for human capital are essential. In addition to the RMCP® certification program, the RMI will provide a much needed industry vehicle for collaboration on best practices in resource management."
