Rite Aid has announced that it is set to close 115 stores as part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings it began earlier this month.
Not on the closings lists are the stores in Chambersburg, Waynesboro and Shippensburg.
The company published a slate of 47 closing stores in an initial filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey and added 68 more locations in a May 9 filing.
The closings represent just under 10% of the 1,240 stores Rite Aid operates and will affect 10 of the 15 states it operates in.
In a news release announcing the bankruptcy, the pharmacy chain said it is "working to facilitate a smooth transfer of customer prescriptions to other pharmacies."
The deadline to enter bids for the chain's pharmacy assets is set for May 13, and an auction will be held on May 14, if needed, according to the bankruptcy docket. The deadline to enter bids for the remaining assets, including the Thrifty Ice Cream business, is June 13, with an auction date set for June 20.
"As we move forward, our key priorities are ensuring uninterrupted pharmacy services for our customers and preserving jobs for as many associates as possible," Rite Aid CEO Matt Schroeder said in the release.

Pennsylvania has the most locations slated to close, with 52 stores set to shutter. Not among them are the Waynesboro store at 1513 E. Main St., the Shippensburg store at 300 S. Fayette St., or the Chambersburg store at 415 E. Queen St.
The company listed 21 locations in California and 12 in Oregon as being set to close. The remainder of the 30 stores are spread across seven states.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the store closures on May 13.
