Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be the most official holiday shopping events, but in the age of online buying, shopping apps like RetailMeNot are getting in on the action. The coupon company launched its very own “Cash Back Day,” running on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5., which features over 1,000 deals exclusive to its users.

“Cash Back Day is an opportunity for shoppers to knock out at least some of their gift lists early and avoid shipping delays, but it’s also a chance to earn cash back on those purchases,” Kristin McGrath, shopping expert and editor at RetailMeNot told GOBankingRates. “The holidays are a time where we’d all like to have a little extra money in our pockets, and those Cash Back Day payouts will come in handy for final holiday purchases — or even self-gifting right after the holidays.”

RetailMeNot declared its first annual Cash Back Day holiday in 2019 — but 2021 is by far its biggest year yet.
“Last year, we partnered with just over 200 retailers for Cash Back Day,” McGrath said. “This year, we’re excited to announce we’ll be partnering with over 1,000 retailers for Cash Back Day, our highest store count yet, offering deals from top retailers including Nike, Amazon, Adidas, Macy’s, UGG, Academy, and many more.”
Part of the logic behind unveiling Cash Back Day so early in the holiday shopping season ties to the shipping delays and inventory shortage issues.
“Cash Back Day serves as the perfect opportunity to save money early on holiday gift purchases, and the chance to avoid shipping delays ahead of gifting season,” McGrath said.
