What you can rent for $4,000 a month in downtown Quincy

QUINCY – The second in a pair of FoxRock apartment buildings has begun preleasing with plans to open its doors on July 1, according to a company press release.

Known as Center & Stone, the two six-story buildings incorporate 1200 Hancock St., where Citizens Bank once stood (and will again on the ground floor), and the restored Masonic Temple at 1170 Hancock St., which was gutted by a four-alarm fire in 2013, and is slated to host a steak house run by Quincy restaurateur Jimmy Liang.

The Stone building, which adjoins the rear of the temple and is the smaller of the two with 66 units, opened its doors in February. Center will be more than three times Stone's size, with 201 units, a covered parking garage with 165 spaces, as well as a courtyard and an outdoor swimming pool.

“We are excited to start growing our Center & Stone community with this preleasing announcement," said property manager Kayla Mobarak in the press release. The apartments are managed by Bozzuto, as is Fox Rock's Ashlar Park and Atlantic Development's The Abby in North Quincy.

How much space for how much money?

Compared to its smaller sibling, Center has larger and more expensive apartments.

At Stone, apartments range in size from 461-square-foot studios to a 760-square foot one-bedrooms. Rents range from $2,190 to $2,855, depending on the size and the location in the building.

At the soon to open Center, one- and two-bedroom apartments range in size from 664 to 1150 square feet and range from $2,625 for a one-bed, one-bath, fourth-floor apartment to $4,025 for the corner unit on the top floor, a 2-bed, 2-bath with a balcony and 1131 square feet.

These prices do not include parking, which costs $150 per month for a space, or utilities. And while Center & Stone is pet friendly, that privilege costs an additional $40 a month.

Of the total 201 units, 40 are currently available for prelease, all with a listed move-in date of July 1, according to Center & Stone's website.

Amenities, including rooftop putting green, share across two buildings

Residents share a suite of amenities spread across both buildings. Once complete, Center will include the pool and courtyard with fire pits and barbecue grills, a roof deck featuring an outdoor putting green, a pet spa, a coworking area, a game room and three work pods.

Next door at Stone, residents can use a fitness center, yoga studio, meeting room and coworking lounge.
