The Range Rover Evoque Plug-In Hybrid has been named the least loved car of 2024 by Which, as it spent more time off the road for repairs than any other car on the list.
Despite its stylish design and an original price tag of around £51,000, the hybrid model failed to win owners' hearts, scoring just 57% in customer satisfaction.
The Evoque, Land Rover's former flagship that once boasted fans such as Victoria Beckham and Jamie Oliver, now finds itself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. According to the survey, the hybrid model (2020-) spent an average of 21 days off the road for repairs — the highest figure of any car in the report.
Owners reported many problems, ranging from disappointing electric range and issues with its size to difficulties in sourcing spare parts.
One disgruntled owner from Manchester called the car "the most frustrating I have ever owned", citing significant reliability issues within the first two years. Another respondent, who had owned two hybrid Evoques, revealed that the first vehicle was replaced due to persistent electrical problems.
Long delays for spare parts exacerbated the vehicle's problems, with one owner reporting that their car was out of commission for over 10 months.

By contrast, the standard petrol and diesel Evoque models fared better, with fewer reported faults and a much shorter average repair time of seven days. These versions achieved a customer satisfaction score of 73%, outperforming their hybrid counterpart.
In response to the findings, Jaguar Land Rover acknowledged logistical disruptions stemming from launching a new parts hub but assured customers that these issues have now been resolved.
A JLR spokesperson told Yahoo Finance UK: “Our own data shows that, of the nearly 2,000 Range Rover Evoque PHEV clients surveyed through their ownership journey, their experience is on par with all of our Range Rover surveyed clients.
"All our experience measures reflect sustained improvement for our owners, with our Purchase NPS at 93/100 for the last six months.”
Lexus RX Hybrid crowned most loved car
At the other end of the spectrum, the 2009-2015 Lexus RX Hybrid emerged as the most loved car in the survey, earning a 97% satisfaction score. Known for its reliability and comfort, the now-discontinued full hybrid beat modern petrol, diesel, and electric rivals to secure the top spot.
Despite being over a decade old, the Lexus RX Hybrid remains highly regarded by its owners. One respondent from Shropshire, whose vehicle had covered 145,000 miles, praised it for still driving "just like it was new." Another owner declared that the car exceeded their expectations for reliability.
