The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce will now have a separate economic development unit.
Its leadership says it will allow them to better serve the needs of their members. The group held its annul luncheon Wednesday.
New president and CEO Peter Tokar announced a newly created economic development arm called Grow Quad Cities that will focus on new business attraction and expansion: “Now that we have two separate organizations we’ll be able to refocus initiatives to help build more programming to support our local and small businesses.”
The Grow Quad Cities work will come from a different pot of money than other chamber activities. The chamber looks to raise about $2 million to properly fund the Grow Quad Cities project.
