The 8.18-acre Retreat at Savannah apartment complex in the Victory Heights neighborhood near Thunderbolt has sold for more than $14.2 million.
Built in 1979, the 112-unit gated complex was renovated and upgraded in 2021 when it came under new ownership and management. It offers a mix of 884-square-foot two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath and 1,144-square-fott, three-bedroom, two-bath units, ranging in price from $1,450 to $1,795 per month.
According to real estate website Zillow, home prices have increased by 12% over last year in the east Savannah zip code of 31404, which has been one of the more affordable areas of Savannah since the surge in pandemic-era housing market. As of July 2023, Rentcafe.com reports the average rental rate in Savannah is $1,625 per month for a 968-square-foot apartment.
