HARBOR SPRINGS — On a rainy Monday, friends, family and volunteers took to Pond Hill Farm for a day of pumpkin picking.
Trucks, tractors and trailers led the way to the fields of lined up pumpkins, which were collected and relocated to the front of the property. The Monday pumpkin picking event allows the farm to get a jumpstart on preparing for its busiest month: October.

Watched over by some canine companions, the volunteers tossed and placed the pumpkins into the trailers from the field. Volunteers left with two pumpkins and full stomachs as well.
Pond Hill Farm Chief Operating Officer David Berryman said the farm usually has between 50,000 and 80,000 pumpkins a year.
