Donald J. Trump will once again become President of the United States, and we’ve seen this movie before. Or have we? What does this next Trump administration portend for apparel, footwear, textiles and retail when it comes to tariffs, trade and taxes? How will it compare to what the industry and consumer experienced from his last term? What initiatives will turn out to be campaign bluster and what will shape policy, move markets and impact the entire fashion industry and supply chain?
Only time will tell, which is why brands are already front-loading freight to get goods in before tariffs hit, even if that means added warehousing and shipping costs.
