Peru inflation up 0.38 pct in July, remains within target range

LIMA, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Peru's consumer price index rose 0.38 percent in July from a month earlier as prices for food, transportation, rent, fuel, electricity and communication all increased, state statistics agency Inei said on Wednesday.

The 12-month inflation rate rose to 1.62 percent, inside the central bank's 1 to 3 percent annual target. (Reporting by Marco Aquino; Writing by Dave Sherwood; Editing by Sandra Maler)
