NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - April 05, 2016) - B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera, a compact interchangeable-lens camera available in black or silver, which comes with a Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. lens equivalent to 28-84mm. The DMC-GX85 offers improved sharpness with a 16MP Micro Four Thirds sensor that omits the optical low pass filter. Dual I.S. allows the GX85's 5-axis-in-body stabilization to work in harmony with lens-based image stabilization for improved stability -- especially appreciated when taking advantage of the 4K video and photo functions or the fast and exact auto focus, enabling the user to photograph subjects quickly and seamlessly. Recording UHD 4K video is supported with either 30p or 24p frame rates in the MP4 format. Full HD 1080p/60 is also supported in MP4 and AVCHD formats.

Continuous shooting is supported at up to 10 fps with single-shot autofocus, or 6 fps with continuous autofocus. A sensitivity range of up to ISO 25600 dismisses difficulty working in low light. The 2.76m-dot electronic viewfinder has a 35mm equivalent magnification of 0.7x, and works well in combination with the tilting 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD for checking composition in a variety of conditions. An electromagnetic drive shutter reduces shutter shock and provides a quieter shutter for discreet street or event photography.
