SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - August 16, 2016) - The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) today announced that registration is open for the next OMA TestFest, which will be held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore. Testing will take place Monday, October 24 through Wednesday, October 26 from 9:00 to 18:00 daily. Registration is open until the deadline on Friday, September 9, 2016 for both client and server implementations. The TestFest is open to any organization including both OMA members and non-members for testing client or server implementations of LWM2M, as well as any OMA Enabler for which there are 3 clients and 3 servers registered.
The OMA Interoperability Process (IOP) defines Interoperability testing events designed to ensure the quality of OMA specifications and enable vendors to verify and test the interoperability of their product implementations. IOP has been established around these regularly held testing events, which are commonly known as OMA TestFests. Hosted by OMA in a confidential and secure testing environment, companies can bring their implementations of OMA specifications to test in multiple multi-vendor combinations.
Among the OMA Enablers to be tested will be Lightweight M2M (LwM2M), a device management protocol designed for sensor networks and the demands of a machine-to-machine (M2M) environment. With LwM2M, OMA has responded to demand in the market, understanding that a common standard for managing lightweight and low power devices on a variety of networks is necessary to realize the potential of IoT. The LwM2M test cases to be used for this event can be found on the bottom of the specifications page. Results of the most recent TestFest event are available online at: https://github.com/OpenMobileAlliance/OMA-LwM2M-Public-Review/wiki/2016-January-TestFest-Results.
"OMA is pleased to be able to provide a TestFest opportunity in Singapore this year, making it easier for companies based in Asia to participate," said Joaquin Prado, Director of Technical Programs at OMA. "During the last 12 months, we have held successful events in Europe and North America, and we look forward to an equally successful event in Singapore."
