Woodbury, NY / myprgenie.com / May 1, 2014 / Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C. announced today that Jill Scher, CPA, will be installed as a member of the Board of the Nassau Chapter of New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA). The installation ceremony will be held on Thursday evening, May 8, 2014 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York.
Jill Scher, a resident of Dix Hills, is a Manager and a member of the firm's Tax Department. Ms. Scher brings over 15 years of public and private accounting experience. She has worked with a diverse client base of midsize businesses in various industries including fashion, pharmaceutical, green energy and publishing. In addition, Ms. Scher's areas of expertise include tax compliance, tax consulting, and transaction structuring and tax representation. She also trains accounting professionals on technical tax topics and co-chairs the Attorneys and Accountants Joint Committee for the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs.
The NYSSCPA, with membership of over 29,000, is one of the largest state accounting organizations in the nation. The mission of this organization is to cultivate, promote, and disseminate knowledge and information concerning CPAs. Ms. Scher joins Gettry Marcus partners, Howard Fine and Joel Dressner, on the NYSSCPA Board, Nassau Chapter.
