Need to do some holiday shopping? Just speak up. As of Friday, Best Buy has joined the growing list of major retailers that have enabled voice-assisted shopping through platforms such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
Shoppers can now order Best Buy’s Deal of the Day products — which include kitchen appliances, televisions and other consumer electronics — by talking to Alexa, the company explained in an announcement. The service will also provide customized product recommendations based on Best Buy’s inventory and the shopper’s preferences.
This isn’t Best Buy’s first foray into voice technology. As of last month, the announcement said, Canadian customers can use Google Home to learn about its sales, products and store locations.
Other stores hopping on the voice bandwagon include Target, Home Depot and Walmart.
