Japanese financial company Nomura Holdings has named Sudhir Nemali as the `managing director and chief operating officer (COO) of its international wealth management division, reported Reuters citing an internal memo.
Operating out of Singapore, Nemali will report to Nomura's COO of global markets Aleem Jivraj and its head of international wealth management Ravi Raju.
His role will involve collaborating with the international wealth management (IWM) management team and corporate partners to drive the expansion of Nomura's wealth management services.
Nomura's spokesperson has confirmed the details of the internal memo.
Nemali has more than 30 years of experience in the wealth management sector.
He is moving to Nomura from Deutsche Bank, where he served as the COO for wealth management and the private bank division across Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America.
Additionally, he was a branch board member of Deutsche Bank in Singapore.
Jivraj and Raju said: “As we embark on the next phase of our growth, Sudhir will work closely with the IWM management team and our corporate partners to drive all aspects of the buildout."
"This will include developing the future strategy and business plans, and ensuring that our platform and processes can fully support our ambitions to become a leading player in wealth management in Asia."
In 2023, Nomura hired Anurag Mahesh for its international wealth management business. Based in Singapore, Mahesh was tasked with overseeing client relationship teams in Southeast Asia, Global South Asia, and the Middle East.
