Peter Hays, a transactional oil and gas lawyer, has joined King & Spalding as a partner in the firm's Houston office. A member of the energy practice, Hays represents companies and entrepreneurs in upstream, midstream and downstream transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and project development.
John T. Woodruff has joined Polsinelli as a shareholder in the firm's tax practice in Houston. Woodruff's practice focuses on helping energy companies with tax issues involving exploration and production, oil field services, offshore drilling, maritime, oil field manufacturing and engineering, procurement and construction.
Sarah Churchill Llamas has joined Winstead's health care and corporate, securities/mergers and acquisitions practice groups as a shareholder in the Austin office. Llamas began serving as a health IT fellow in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2014 and has continued as an alumnus of the program. Jeff Bates has joined Winstead as of counsel in the real estate development and investments practice group in Austin. Jeffrey McPhaul has joined the corporate, securities/M&A practice group as of counsel in Winstead's Dallas office. David Odom, a patent attorney and electronics engineer, has joined the firm as of counsel in Winstead's intellectual practice group in Dallas. Shae Keefe has joined the firm as of counsel in its commercial litigation practice group in Houston.
Mandisa "Mandy" S. Price has joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner in the firm's corporate department in Dallas. Price works with private equity firms and public companies involved in complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and investments. She also advises on corporate governance matters, financing transactions and investments.

Mackenzie S. Wallace and Alexander T. Dimock, Dallas associates in Thompson & Knight's trial practice group, have been elected to the executive committee of the Federal Bar Association. Wallace will serve as president and Dimock will serve as the young lawyer chair for 2017-2018.
