Investing.com - The Chinese government is encouraging companies to buy U.S. agricultural goods, including soybeans and pork, according to a tweet from Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the Global Times.
• “Based on what I know, Chinese govt encourages Chinese companies to buy certain amount of U.S. farm products, including soybeans and pork, which will also be exempted from additional tariffs. It is hoped the U.S. side can keep goodwill reciprocity with China through practical actions,” the tweet said.
• China is one of the top importers of U.S. agricultural goods, especially soybeans.
• Some Chinese companies have begun price inquiries on U.S. agricultural goods in a sign that trade tensions between the two countries could be easing, Reuters reported on Thursday.
