Global specialty insurer Mosaic has unveiled a strategic reorganisation aimed at enhancing the growth and operational efficiency of its agency business.

The restructuring, which came into effect from 15 July, underscores the insurer’s progression as a global entity with a business model mainly reliant on trade-capital partners across the existing seven speciality lines.

Mosaic, which currently represents 26 insurers worldwide, has originated more than $1bn in gross written premium (GWP) for agency partners in the past two years.

As part of the latest restructure, Mosaic has appointed Liam Jones as the new Agency CEO, tasked with charting the strategic direction and bolstering the profitability and operational excellence of Mosaic's agency operations.

Jones will also focus on product development and enhancing underwriting capabilities across the group.

Lisa Fontanetta takes on the role of chief operating officer, with responsibility for managing the insurer’s overall operational strategy, focusing on efficiency and the integration of automation.

Krishnan Ethirajan has been named chief digital & AI officer, responsible for spearheading the company's technology, data and AI strategies, as well as managing relationships with external delivery partners.

Charlie Mackay assumes the position of international chief underwriting officer, with a remit to oversee global broker relationships and drive the company's international market engagement strategy.

Subject to approval from Lloyd's and regulatory bodies, Anna Jay is set to become Syndicate 1609 active underwriter, managing portfolio structure and risk selection, and providing strategic oversight across all business lines.

David White has been appointed product & portfolio optimisation managing director, overseeing the development of the underwriting portfolio, governance, pricing and product innovation.

Meanwhile, Grant Hopkins takes the helm as FP&A and strategic finance head, guiding Mosaic's financial strategy and ensuring robust financial planning, analysis and decision-making processes.

Lastly, Heather Oliver will serve as corporate affairs head, with responsibilities encompassing business development strategy, investor and board relations, as well as broker marketing.

Mosaic co-CEO Mark Wheeler added: “These advancements benefit all our stakeholders and help us expand distribution and product innovation, while capitalising on discerning, data-led risk selection.

“Notably, these updates will support the strong allegiances we are building with brokers and agency partners to source profitable underwriting opportunities and bring innovative solutions to the market.”
