Today's economic agenda brings a mix of foreign and domestic data.

Preliminary Chinese and European manufacturing numbers due in the overnight session have the potential to affect sentiment early.

Weekly mortgage applications and crude-oil inventories follow at 7 a.m. ET at 10:30 a.m. ET respectively.

Tomorrow is more active, starting early with Germany's Ifo business-climate survey. Durable-goods, initial jobless claims, new-home sales, and natural-gas inventories follow in the United States. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen makes a speech about inflation and monetary policy after the closing bell.

Thursday also brings Accenture earnings in the pre-market. Nike, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cintas, Jabil Circuit, and Pier 1 are scheduled for the afternoon.
