Minnesota wellness business, Pebble Spa, to open on Rochester's Peace Plaza

Oct. 5—ROCHESTER — A new spot for relaxation, wellness and shopping, Pebble Spa Co., hopes to make ripples in downtown Rochester later this year.

Pebble Spa owner Wendy Lindsay hopes to open the doors of her fourth Minnesota location in Suite 102 at 16 First Ave. SW in December.

That's the Peace Plaza space between

Chester's Kitchen & Bar

and Moka coffee that last housed the

Luxe Beauty Bar.

Acropolis Properties,

led by

George Psomas

and a partner, owns the downtown spot.

Darci Fenske

of Paramark Real Estate represented both the landlord and tenant in the real estate transaction.

Lindsay launched Pebble Spa in Ely, Minnesota in 2003. She also has locations in Duluth and Virginia, Minnesota. This will be the smallest of the four spas.

Why add Rochester to the list of Minnesota cities with a Pebble Spa?

"We've been in the community a couple times and have loved it. This is sort of an excuse for us to visit there. But also there are a lot of massage and spa concepts there, but none that do exactly the same as what we offer," said Lindsay. "We are focused on wellness, so we thought it would be a good market."

Pebble Spa offers massage, reflexology, sauna and other related services as well as body wraps. It offers couples treatment as well as group services for spa parties.

In addition to the spa, Pebble adds shopping to the experience with a boutique that carries body care products, clothes and home decor.

Lindsay, who expects to have 10 to 15 employees staffing the Rochester spa, also plans to offer massage training and education.
