Chargeurs PCC Fashion Technologies brought Swiss tradition to Italy for the 39th edition of Milano Unica.
The French interlining company has expanded its product range beyond beyond its traditional offerings of innerlinings and inner-garment components to include cotton fabrics for the shirting sector. The group presented three Chargeurs-run Swiss brands—Alumo, Brennet and Eugster & Huber—as a representation of the “pinnacle” of the alpine region’s textile techniques at the Italian trade show for high-end fabrics, held July 9-11 in Italy.

“The fabrics produced by Alumo and Eugster & Huber represent the best market offering of high-quality, luxury shirting,” said Gianluca Tanzi, president and CEO of Chargeurs PCC. “Brennet, for us, is a great opportunity to reposition it with an exceptional eye on performance and innovation, looking toward the new, contemporary customer, offering brands the new service of a readymade shirt as well as the fabric itself.”
Chargeurs acquired the three labels last month for an undisclosed amount. The deal also came with the acquisition of Cilander, a Swiss company specializing in high-end textile fabrics and finishing solutions for various applications. Chanel and Saint Laurent were named on Cilander’s client roster.
Alumo has been producing fine cotton for men’s shirts since 1918. Brennet, too, is a long-standing brand, known for high-performance fabrics for the contemporary customer. It halted operations in 2012 after a devastating fire the year prior, was relaunched and revamped by Chargeurs during the trade fair.
Eugster & Huber, a collection known for its traditional focus on pleats and organza for fine women’s garments, was also presented at Milano Unica.
“These three Swiss brands align perfectly with our strategy to distinguish ourselves in the apparel industry by offering shirt cutting service, an extensive range of products of the best quality on the market, increasingly innovative and paired with ever more personalized service,” Tanzi said. “The introduction of a new product category benefitting from unique and globally recognized know-how will expand cross-selling opportunities and create a further stimulus for performing and innovative collections satisfying all brand’s needs.”
