"I'll be playing on and off with hour breaks here and there," MikeySlice noted, adding that he will play in the Cube Cube Tournament until 9 p.m. EST on Friday, January 27.

"I'll be participating in the Pro league, and competing for a piece of a $3,000 prize pool."

As MikeySlice noted, taking part in this type of tournament has been a lucrative experience for him; for example, during the last three day period when he played Bubble Shooter, he ended up cashing out $420 in profits. This amount is just a small portion of the Skillz earnings that MikeySlice has been able to amass since starting his Skillz career almost two years ago in late January, 2015.

After seeing an advertisement on his Facebook of another esporter named Mike C holding a check for $20,000 that he received from Skillz by playing a bowling game on his phone, MikeySlice said he was intrigued. As an avid bowler, he wanted to see if he could enjoy the same level of success as Mike C.

MikeySlice began to play the Skillz games and also started making YouTube videos to give his growing group of fans tips on how to succeed at the games. In 2016, he invested $2,000 into a streaming setup to start a possible career with Twitch, which is a site that is devoted to showing esporters playing games.

"My total 2016 winnings ended up being a grand total of $7,850, and that is not including the Amazon gift cards, Skillz hats and shirts I have also received," he said.
